The Pareto Principle, more popularly known as the 80/20 rule, is a strategy that can be applied to preparation for JEE Main. This rule helps students in studying smarter.

Now, the fundamental principle of the 80/20 rule in this case is that you identify a few important chapters. Usually, about 20 percent of the chapters contribute to 80 percent of the question paper. This means that 80 percent of the questions originate from those 20 percent of chapters alone.

The point of this strategy is not to study more but to study smarter so that the results can be maximised with limited effort. The essence of the 80/20 rule is to score better marks with less effort. If those selected high-yield chapters are covered thoroughly, the candidate may not need to study the rest. We should be judicious in our studies and try to specialise in a few key chapters.

It's about prioritizing quality above quantity in deciding where to use energy, weighing which areas give the most reward with the least effort.

Physics: It's apparent that very few questions arise from challenging and demanding chapters such as Rotation. Most chapters whose heading contains the word "errors" like Error Analysis or practical chapters like the screw gauge, vernier caliper, or galvanometers are sure to have a good number of questions in any exam.

Mathematics:Standard chapters include calculus, conic sections, and 3D vectors. Statistics is included and is recommended as an easy chapter with which to begin studying because a question appears in almost every standard unit. Conversely, a lot of time is often spent studying Permutations & Combinations (P&C), yet few questions result from it.

Chemistry: Inorganic Chemistry in particular is emphasized because the questions are usually simple and do not require a lot of mental effort to comprehend.
